{"id":2079,"date":"2022-08-21T07:48:38","date_gmt":"2022-08-21T07:48:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cbcwla.org\/home\/children\/?page_id=2079"},"modified":"2022-08-25T21:38:46","modified_gmt":"2022-08-25T21:38:46","slug":"policy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cbcwla.org\/home\/children\/policy\/","title":{"rendered":"\u4fdd\u8b77\u5152\u7ae5\u653f\u7b56 Child Protection Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"<hr \/>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>CO-WORKERS SCREENING<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">All of our coworkers are classified as &#8220;religious practitioners&#8221; who are considered to be mandated reporters.\u00a0Prior to serving, all of our coworkers (teachers or teaching assistants) must:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol>\n<li>submit the <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/ie7SQU1mesUFH8mW6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">application form<\/a> online;<\/li>\n<li>complete the live scan fingerprinting and background check; and<\/li>\n<li>finish the required training on child abuse and protection<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">For more information, please go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/cbcwla.org\/home\/children\/requirements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Requirements for Serving in Children Ministry<\/a> page.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>SUPERVISION<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">The presence of two mandated reporters is required when ministry activities involve contact with, or supervising, children.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>REPORTING ABUSE<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">Mandated reporters must report to a county child welfare department or to local law enforcement (police or sheriff\u2019s department) immediately by phone.\u00a0 A written report must then be sent within 36 hours by fax or electronically (if available). \u00a0Written reports must be submitted on the <a href=\"https:\/\/oag.ca.gov\/sites\/all\/files\/agweb\/pdfs\/childabuse\/ss_8572.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">California Suspected Child Abuse Form 8572<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>OPEN DOOR POLICY<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">Classroom doors should remain open unless there is a window in the door or a side window beside it.\u00a0 Doors should never be locked while persons are inside the room.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>RESTROOM GUIDELINES<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">**Parents are strongly encouraged to have their children visit the bathroom prior to each class.**<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>2-K Class:<\/strong> Children in our two year-old to kindergarten class should utilize the children bathroom with two half doors in RM 209\/210.\u00a0 If a child is taking longer than seems necessary, the coworker should call the child&#8217;s name to see if he\/she requires assistance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><strong>Elementary Class:<\/strong>\u00a0For children in our elementary class, a coworker should take them to the adult bathroom. \u00a0The coworker should check the bathroom first to make sure that the bathroom is empty, then allow the children inside.\u00a0 The coworker should then remain outside the bathroom door and escort the children back to the classroom.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>ACCIDENTAL INJURIES TO CHILDREN<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\">In the event that a child is injured while under our care, the following steps should be followed:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ol>\n<li>For minor injuries, scrapes, and bruises, coworkers will provide First Aid (Band-Aids, etc.) as appropriate and will notify the child\u2019s parent or guardian of the injury at the time the child is picked up.
