(<strong style=\"color: red\">Do not rush into reading the Bible without starting with prayers!<\/strong>) (e.g., you may start with a simple prayer like this: &#8220;Dear Lord, what will you be speaking to me today?)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong style=\"color: blue\">Scripture Reading<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Get the following items ready in advance: your devotional notebook, paper, pen, and\/or electronic devotional articles so that you can easily write down the Bible verses, questions, and thoughts you have noticed! You are encouraged to open your Bible and vocally read out the scriptures (Try to practice this reading method daily or once a week)!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scripture Reading: Matthew Ch. 7 (ESV)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong style=\"color: blue\">Meditation<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Take a moment to quietly reflect on today&#8217;s Scriptures. Through such exercises, let God&#8217;s Word be gradually written into our hearts and be inscribed to our mind.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong style=\"color: blue\">Devotional<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Read the devotional articles prepared by CBCLWA (<strong style=\"color: red\">*Read the Bible first before reading any devotional materials.<\/strong>)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">(<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">vv.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">1-6) In order to be fair, a good judge will spend time to listen to both sides\u2019 arguments during a trial in order to understand all the details in the case. Often times the biggest mistake made during judgment is lack of evaluating all aspects of the case, neglecting the cause and effect, and come up with a haze decision without figuring the truth. This person usually blames others and never look<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0at their own fault.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:2,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">God\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">W<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ord reminds us<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0that<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0we must first get rid of the beam in our own eyes (this beam blocks out majority of our vision)<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. W<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">e must not evaluate a situation with a narrow mind and must not be bias<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. W<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">e must figure out the entire situation before we come up with a conclusion. Before we get the speck out of another person\u2019s eye, we must first get rid of the beams in our eyes. May the Lord grant us the wisdom to evaluate right from wrong, and to do things based on the truth.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:2,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">(<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">vv.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">7-14) In order to attain the citizenship in Heaven as stated in the Sermon on the Mount, our comfort zone may be challenged. We need to break free from our traditional mentality \u2013 such as confronting\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">our\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">flesh before we came to know Christ, etc. These are some of the prices and effort we must pay. Let\u2019s all ask God to guide us, and ask the Holy Spirit to help us. Because He said, \u201c<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For everyone who asks receives<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and the<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0one who seeks finds<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and to the one who knocks<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0it\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">will be opened<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u201d (M<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">t.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">7:8) May the Lord lead us, and allow us to live a life based on the truth, so we can love God and others in our daily life.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:2,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Jesus said: \u201c<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Enter\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">by\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the narrow gate. For\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction and those who enter by it are many<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/b><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u201d<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">(M<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">t.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">7: 13-14). Metamorphically, the worldly roads are wide and easy to walk on, but Jesus wants us to walk on a narrow road. If you realize that your direction is opposite from the world, congratulations! You are on the right track. Although the gate and the road are narrow, but do not be afraid. Jesus will lead us, and we only have to follow Him<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0 On the c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ontrary, if you have become a Christian, but realized that your life is the sa<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">m<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">e as before<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0\u2013 meaning you have\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">no difficulty in life<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and do not feel a need to pay\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">price<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">you need to ask the Lord to shine His light upon you, to expose the hidden evil thoughts in you. You should urgently repent!\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:2,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">(vv. 15-29)\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In this last paragraph, Jesus reminded the disciples about identify the false prophet<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Thereafter, from the letters written by\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the Apostles\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Paul and John, we can observe the largest challenge since the beginning of this church. At the same time, Jesus clearly pointed out that there is a kind of people who proudly believe that they are right with God, but actually not. Our Lord cannot even recognize him, and call him sinful man. This is actually the worse tragedy!\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:2,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Jesus\u00a0teaching is about life<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0\u2013 e<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">specially\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0completed one. Those who truly belong to our Master, is willing to be\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">abided<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0by the Lord\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Word<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Therefore, this person will yield spiritual fruit.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Today, let\u2019s have a reflection in\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the Lord\u2019s present. Has my life changed after I confessed Jesus as my personal savior? Do I repent\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">when\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">I make a mistake? Do I yearn for God\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Word<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">? Am I bearing good witness to people around me, and lead people to Christ? Do I establish a deeper relationship with the Lord?<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:2,&quot;335559739&quot;:0,&quot;335559740&quot;:360}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong style=\"color: blue\">Pray<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Give thanks to God for His enabling us to read the Scriptures and for our response for living out the Word of God today!
