Nathanael Ao
Editor’s Note: In this heartfelt testimony, Nathanael shares how Jesus changed his perspective on daily interactions. From choosing honesty over lies to finding courage in prayer, his journey reminds us of the power of a simple, sincere faith in action.
Before I accepted Jesus into my heart, I would sometimes tell lies, and it wasn’t easy for me to forgive others.
I came to know Jesus through church, school, and home. At school, I learned that I should treat others the way I want to be treated. For example, whenever I feel like lying, I now remember that I should treat others with honesty, just as I want them to be honest with me. At church, I learned how to forgive. Now, if someone accidentally hurts me, I choose to forgive them. At home, I learned to treat people kindly; for instance, I try my best to talk to my sister in a kind way.
God’s word changed my life and helped me believe in Jesus. The Bible says: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
I believe this verse. I know that I have sinned and that only Jesus can save me. When I am scared, I pray to God and I feel more confident. For example, when I am afraid of swimming, I pray and I feel like God is right there helping me. The Bible teaches me that God is always with me. Even when I am in a new place and feel lonely, I know I am not alone because God is there.
After I get baptized, I want to keep learning more about Jesus, telling others about Him, and following His teachings every day.
