我是Kathy,目前在UCLA讀教育學博士，主修是雙語教育政策。加入兒童事工是因為之前的兒童部同工Lola介紹以及我本身很喜歡教學，透過帶小朋友讀經，引導他們更認識神，在神的話語中安心成長。想以腓立比書第二章13節彼此鼓勵:「因 為 你 們 立 志 行 事 都 是 神 在 你 們 心 裡 運 行 ， 為 要 成 就 他 的 美 意 」 這提醒我們要謙卑順服神，努力以求為神所用，成就神的大事業！
Hi everyone! I’m Kathy, currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Education at UCLA, focusing on bilingual education policy. I joined the Children’s Ministry through a former CM coworker, Lola, and because of my deep passion for teaching. It’s a joy to guide children in reading the Bible and help them grow securely in God’s Word.
One verse that encourages me is Philippians 2:13: “For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose.” This reminds me to humbly follow God’s leading and strive to be used by Him for His glory.

大家好我是Vicky! 我在2022年來到我們教會並加入了播仁團契。去年(2024)開始我想參與服事。由於內向的個性，剛開始對幕後的服事比較有興趣，但是經過團契姊妹的分享及邀請，讓我看到了兒童部的需要，最後決定鼓起勇氣來參加Ｋ2班TA的服事。一開始不太確定怎麼跟孩子們相處，透過觀察老師們和孩子們的互動，我也開始學習並操練，現在能自然地跟孩子們互動，也期待能繼續幫助孩子們更認識神。
Hello everyone! I’m Vicky. I started attending our church in 2022 and joined the Bellman Fellowship. In 2024, I began seeking ways to serve. As an introvert, I was initially more comfortable with behind-the-scenes roles. But through the encouragement of sisters in my fellowship, I became aware of the needs in the children’s ministry and decided to step out in faith to serve as a TA in the preschool class.
At first, I wasn’t sure how to connect with the children, but by observing the teachers and learning alongside them, I gradually grew more confident. Now, I truly enjoy engaging with the kids and am excited to continue helping them grow to understand more of God’s love.

我在UCLA做研究工作，2023年4月在CBCWLA受浸归主。在教会受浸之后，我特别渴望在教会服事，希望透过与弟兄姐妹同工更加亲近神，在灵命上有长进。所以当团契姐妹询问我是否愿意去儿童部服事的时候，我非常乐意地接受了这个提议。
来到儿童部服事让我看到福音在孩子们身上的奇妙作为，也更加帮助我思考如何在家庭里活出基督的样式。我也非常开心能和儿童部许多优秀的老师一起同工，感受到神国大家庭的爱与温暖。
I am a human genomics research scientist at UCLA and was baptized at CBCWLA in April 2023. Since coming to faith, my desire to serve the Lord has grown deeply. I longed to grow spiritually and draw closer to God by serving alongside fellow believers. When a friend from my fellowship asked if I’d be willing to serve in the Children’s Ministry, I joyfully said yes.
Serving in Children’s Ministry has opened my eyes to the incredible work of the Gospel in the lives of children. It has also encouraged me to reflect more intentionally on how to live out Christ’s example in my own family. I’m especially grateful for the opportunity to serve with so many dedicated and caring teachers. Through this ministry, I’ve truly experienced the love and warmth of God’s family.

兒時，我是家中的獨子，媽媽帶我去教會，給我講聖經，在我當時幼小的心靈中打好了信仰的根基。現在我是三個孩子的父親，我帶孩子去教會，給孩子讀聖經，希望在主的真理上幫助他們立好一生的根基。與孩子相處久了，愈發能體會耶穌的話「我實在告訴你們：你們若不回轉，變成小孩子的樣式，斷不得進天國。」（太18:3）
孩子們無論是安靜的，調皮的，愛笑的，愛哭的，每一個都充滿了成年人早已失去的一種能力，也是我們信仰至關重要的一種能力，就是單純相信倚靠的能力——他們的樣式本來就是小孩子的樣式啊。我大兒子五歲多的時候決志信了主，不是因為他簡單聽信了父母的話，而是因為他明白了罪，也親生感受到了罪在他身上的捆綁。五歲多的孩子，我們或許以為他還什麼都不懂，但在關乎生命最根本的事上，他其實已經能明白體會了。
所以孩子們不僅是我們的寶貝，我們關愛寵溺的對象，也是我們的慕道友，我們所要培育主的門徒。 「教養孩童，使他走當行的道，就是到老他也不偏離。」（箴言22:6）我盼望透過兒童部的服事，能夠幫助我們可愛的孩子們明白聖經，走當行的道，一生都不偏離。
As the only child, my mother introduced me to the church and nurtured my understanding of the Bible, instilling the seeds of faith in my young heart. Today, as a father of three, I continue this practice by bringing my own children to church and reading the Bible to them. My hope is to aid them in building a firm foundation rooted in the Lord’s truth, one that will guide them throughout their lives.
As I spend time with my children, I find a deeper understanding in the words of Jesus, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3).
Irrespective of whether children are quiet, mischievous, laughter-filled, or tend to cry, each one of them possesses a capacity that adults have often lost, and it’s a vital capacity for our faith – the ability to believe and trust without complications, but pure belief and trust. Their nature, after all, reflects that of little children.When my eldest son was just over five years old, he made the decision to believe in the Lord. It wasn’t merely because he followed our guidance, but because he comprehended the concept of sin and genuinely felt its impact on his life. We might assume that a child of this age doesn’t grasp much, but when it pertains the most fundamental aspects of life, they can heartily comprehend and experience.
Children are not just treasures, recipients of our care and affection; they are also seekers in faith, disciples of the Lord whom we shall strive to nurture. “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). Through our children’s ministry, our heartfelt desire is to guide our beloved children in understanding the Bible and walking the righteous path, so that they may remain steadfast throughout their lives.

大家好，我叫周生妹，2004年2 月带女儿Alice 到CBCWLA，2005年4月在这里受浸后一直在這裡聚會。我一直很喜欢孩子，所以当儿童部需要同工时，我很想参与。可我既不会唱，又不会画，没有必要的技能做儿童的主日学老师，所以一直没参与。直到去年 （編按: 2022年）我了解到儿童部也需要TA，而我正在找服事的机会，所以就报名做了TA。
我很感恩神给我这个机会，看着孩子们一天天长大，认识神，爱神，真好！感谢主！愿主的恩惠，慈爱永远与CBCWLA 的孩子们同在！
Hi, I’m Shengmei! In February 2004, I started attending CBCWLA with my daughter Alice, and since being baptized in April 2005, I have been regularly attending services. I have always had a love for children, so when the children’s ministry needed volunteers, I was eager to get involved. However, lacking the skills to sing or draw made me hesitant to become a Sunday school teacher. It wasn’t until last year (Editor’s note: 2022) that I discovered the need for teaching assistants in the children’s ministry. I responded to the call and joined as a TA.
I am incredibly grateful to God for granting me this opportunity to witness the children’s growth in their knowledge and love for God. It is truly a wonderful experience! Thank you, Lord! May the grace and love of the Lord be with the children of CBCWLA forever!
