【编者按】I will ask God for help because I know I can’t do things by myself. I will also be kind to others, don’t steal other people’s stuff, and follow God.

When I was little, I got to know Jesus because my parents brought me to church every week. I would worship, pray, and read the Bible. I learned about Jesus’s teachings, how He performed miracles, and that we are all sinners. Sin is stuff that God does not like. I also learned that we need to trust Him, obey Him, and believe Him so we can be with God. My teachers at church and parents taught me about Jesus too. So, when I was 5 years old, I said, “I want to trust in God.”

As I grew older, I understood more of what Jesus has done for us. He died on the cross for our sins so that we can be saved and be with God. I know that I am a sinner because whenever my friends don’t do things the way I want them to, I say mean things to them like, “I don’t want to be your friend anymore” and “I don’t want to play with you”. I say these words to hurt their feelings. I know that is not good because the Bible says to “love your neighbor as yourself”.

I tried to say kind words to my friends, but I couldn’t do it on my own. So, I prayed to God and asked Him for help and I said, “Help me to be kind and loving to my friends, even when I don’t feel like it”. God heard my prayer. So when it happened again, I had the courage to go to my friends, and speak kind words like “Your dress is pretty” and “Can we go to my house to play?” in a nice way. Also, I like to take stuff that people accidentally drop on the ground. I grab the things that they drop and I walk away. But I know that the Bible says not to steal. So, I asked God  for help, and I said “Help me to not steal from others”, and God heard my prayer. So when I picked up something that belonged to someone else, I put it in the lost-in-found box. These things helped me know that God listens to my prayers and can help me.

I want to be baptized because I want to follow Jesus and do what He taught us to do. Now that I believe in Jesus, I will try to do what the Bible says to do. And I will read the Bible and pray every day.  I will ask God for help because I know I can’t do things by myself. I will also be kind to others, don’t steal other people’s stuff, and follow God.
